Object of the Month of May 2022

This month we exhibit an object related to the instruments of conduction and control of equine animals. It is a brake that was placed in the animal's mouth, facilitating its handling and control.
The bridle is composed of two vertical iron rods with rings at the ends, connected by a horizontal bar, through which the animal's tongue should pass. Attached to the upper rings by buckles was the dewlap and to the lower rings the leather rein with 5.73 m in length.
